Woodlands Presented with Openness and Honesty Award
This week the eight schools which form the Co-operative Academies Trust gathered together for a recognition evening.
The event held at 1 Angel Square in Manchester recognised the achievements of our entire school community, from staff, to parents and everyone who makes up the tapestry of our academy.
The academies were judged on their commitment to; Equity and Equality, Self-help and Self-responsibility, Democracy, Openness and Honesty, Solidarity, Caring for Others, Social Responsibility and a special Pioneers’ Award was given.
Woodlands was presented with the Openness and Honesty Recognition Award. The award which was presented to the Woodlands governors who have supported the school in developing new leadership and ways forward for the school in an atmosphere of mutual respect. This academic year there have been quite a few changes at Woodlands – changes of leadership, changes of staff, and national changes to the assessment framework. The governors of the school have demonstrated openness to the new structures and willingness to challenge the school effectively so that we can ensure continual development and improvement. The governors have welcomed the honesty of the school in presenting a true picture of strengths and areas for development in order for frank discussion to place.
Thank you for your continued support, we look forward to seeing the impact of our on-going efforts.
